August 11, 2016: For the many years this site has existed, this page (and the subsequent) have been responsible for 99% of my site visits – I’d be VERY keen to hear from you! Keener still if you make the choice to read some of my own writing on this site, and offer reactions, considerations, etc.

I Googled “Sagittarius-Capricorn cusp” and have pasted the text from the top few resultant pages:
1. from Californiapsychics
2. from TRANSITS
2. from Always Astrology
2. from iVillage
2. from mrgoodman

Note:  The last one, from mrgoodman, is the scariest (for those who want to skip ahead)
Note 2:  I made it a closer for how it happened to link with the others, AND ’cause it’s the scariest
Note 3:  Sorry I don’t yet know how to make anchors so you could just click.
Not so true now! In late April, I applied my first page anchors – you CAN jump on the same page now!
Anyway…we’re off:

Gen’l Info on Cusps

If your birthday falls when the Sun moves from one astrological sign into another, you were born on a cusp. Some astrologers draw this range as one day before and one day after the sign changes. The cusp is generally interpreted to mean a blending of the qualities of two Sun Signs. Yet the year you were bron is the best indication of what sign you are. At the time of your birth, the sun was in one sign or the other, if even in zero degrees.

In Karmic Astrology, birth on a cusp is interpreted as “unfinished business” from previous lifetimes. This lifetime is about finishing that final lesson to move into the soul refining challenges presented through the next sun sign.

Born on the cusp

Being born on the cusp could be described as standing on a threshold between two rooms, not exactly in one or the other, with the ability to step either forward or back depending on what’s happening in your life. This can be the source of flexibility and complexity, or it can be the cause of a great deal of confusion. Some cusp babies literally feel pulled in two, as the zodiac signs right next to each other are different in element, quality and presentation.

For example, Cancer is ruled by the Moon, is a cardinal (active, initiating) sign, whose element is water. Leo sits next door and is ruled by the Sun, is a fixed (stubborn) sign, whose element is Fire. The diametric nature of these qualities means that these two signs can be tough for the person who expresses both facets of each sign.

However, the Sun Sign is only one of the important aspects in your astrological chart. In the past, astrologers considered the Moon sign to be the most important feature in a birth chart. The Moon Sign and the Ascendant (Rising) also influence the cusp. In our example above, if the Cancer/Leo baby has its Moon and Ascendant in fire signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius) the fiery aspects of its character would predominate making it feel less like a soul divided.

Sagittarius/Capricorn Cusp  (December 19-23)

Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, is a Fire element and Mutable (changeable) in quality. Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, is an Earth element and Cardinal (active) in quality. Sagittarius’ roaming qualities are somewhat opposed to Capricorn’s essential bent for security and caution. Yet, when both energies are harnessed and working together, the opportunity for a rich ability to manifest successful ideas, schemes and businesses is unparalleled.

SAGITARIUS/CAPRICORN

“SAGICORNY–the flippant dictator: The Sagicorny climbs the mountain of life, reaches the summit, throws both arms skyward and shouts, ‘I”M ON TOP,THEREFORE I’M RIGHT!’ This cuspoid combines the desire to see faraway places with the need for power and to be ‘on top.’ Two famous Sagicornys: Darth Vader and A.J. Reynolds, the human cannonball.
Tem Tarriktar

Once again we are talking about Fire & Earth. This time Mutable & Cardinal. This has the potential for being a paranoid personality with an excruciating headache. Capricorn’s cardinal Earth can be insufferably embarrassed by the independent free wheeling of the Sag mutable fire while Sag feels imprisoned by the restrictions felt by Cap limitations which attempts to keep everything well under control and respectable. “Foot in mouth disease” is intolerable to Cap and at least uncomfortable to Sag when there was no intention to hurt anyone. Didn’t they want to hear the truth? When this happens it is embarrassing to both signs. Bad enough that Sag has to deal with such slips but much worse with Cap moralizing. It is much more difficult for this uncivilized and insensitive happy-go-lucky spirit to be comfortable when teamed with this formal, status quo, please-the-public taskmaster on guard. It is equally difficult for Cap to stand the embarrassment that Sag on its own could brush off. If someone is offended there are always more people to party with. Not that Sag isn’t sorry and even willing to apologize if it doesn’t also have to have its nose rubbed in it. If this Siamese conflict is going on in one individual it will be up to that individual to find a way for the fun loving, happy-go-lucky Sag to be civilized without being too imprisoned. The Cap influence will be a lot more sociable and fun also if they learn to take a joke less seriously. Cap can have the ability to diplomatically smooth ruffled feathers and if the embarrassment can be controlled, less will be lost to worry about. Success, fame and honor are possible rewards for smoothing out this conflicting tendency. Each of you have the ability and the obligation only to yourself to find a comfortable balance you can live happily with. It is possible.

Those born on the Sagittarius-Capricorn Cusp will help shape the future. They have an innate talent for sensing the way things should go and bringing them to fruition. They begin preparing themselves early for what life may bring. Their motto is “Always be prepared.” Not the most patient person on the block, they certainly appreciate those who agree with their plans. If they don’t find the cooperation they need, they will forge on ahead on their own with no problem.

Sagittarius-Capricorn understands the power in silence. They have the ability to utilize this to help their cause. Unless they exercise caution, they may find themselves alienating those they work or live with.

Sagittarius-Capricorn needs to temper their intensity. This will allow them to control their moods rather than letting their moods control them. They need to focus on building and maintaining social relationships. If they are not careful, they will close themselves off.

Sagittarius-Capricorn is practical and optimistic. They are outgoing, and can be very friendly. Responsible and reliable, they are good to have at your side in a pinch. They like things to work in traditional ways. They have a great sense of humor. They like one-on-one competitions. They are devoted to their partners, and great fun to be around. They like to explore new things, and want to experience as many things as they can. Hard working, they are not easily deterred from their goals.

The Cusp of Prophecy is known to be trustworthy, self-reliant, loyal, ambitious, charming, practical, economical, shrewd, fun, responsible, warm, funny, optimistic, romantic, playful, and enthusiastic. They can also be blunt, impulsive, vain, aggressive and quick-tempered.

Individuals born on the Sagittarius-Capricorn cusp are inspired teachers, and they are very fond of children. They make astute observations, and make excellent critics, being just and fair. While they don’t fall in love easily, once they do they are faithful to the end. They give their best and expect the best in return. Methodical and efficient, they complete every task to the best of their ability. They like to travel and have an affinity to language.

Sagittarius-Capricorn is a great thinker, and sometimes is gifted with prophecy to some degree. When these two signs work together in harmony, they have an unparalleled ability to create successful ideas and bring them to fruition. They have the determination to overcome whatever frustrations or obstacles as may arise along the way. If you really want to succeed, hitch your wagon to a Sagittarius/Capricorn Cusp to help you achieve your goal.

Born on a cusp: Sagittarius-Capricorn

Sagittarius is the ninth Sign of the Zodiac; Capricorn is the tenth. Sagittarius/Capricorns use knowledge to understand the world and hard work to master it. Those born on this Cusp are both ambitious and disciplined, determined and dedicated to achieving their goals. They are also practical and realistic, cautious not to get in over their head. Sagittarius/Capricorns are the scholars and learners of the Zodiac. They seek the truth and the meaning of life, and they love to explore. The astrological symbol of Sagittarius is the Archer. The Archer is a Centaur — half man and half horse, it is the only Sign of the Zodiac that is half man and half beast. Centaurs were the great scholars and intellectuals of Greek and Roman myth, but they could also be hot-headed and aggressive.

The astrological symbol of Capricorn is the Sea Goat. They start from the sea and ascend to the highest mountain tops, working their way upward with every step. While the path is not always smooth, their determination to succeed ensures that they will persevere. They can also be rigid and unforgiving when others stand in their way. Sagittarius/Capricorns are not fixed or opinionated; they have no set plan or bias, but seek to learn new ideas as they come. This Aspect is indicative of the Mutable nature of the Sun Sign Sagittarius. These people often excel in the workplace and are business leaders, often starting businesses or coming up with new ideas. In this way, Capricorn exemplifies the Cardinal quality assigned to it. Capricorns’ organisational abilities combine with their diligence to help them achieve their goals. Sagittarius/Capricorns desire the freedom to do what they want when they want, and they tend to be impulsive and independent.

Sagittarius is ruled by the Planet Jupiter. In ancient Roman mythology, Jupiter (and his Greek equivalent, Zeus) was the king of the gods. Jupiter represents expansion in all its forms, including the mental outreach so prominent in Sagittarians, but it also may invite excess. Capricorn is ruled by the Planet Saturn. In ancient Roman mythology, Saturn (and his Greek equivalent, Cronus) was the father of many of the gods, including Zeus. Saturn is about discipline, hard work and responsibility. Sagittarius/Capricorns are interested in mental exploration as teachers and philosophers, and are loyal and charitable, self-controlled and self-reliant. They are also trustworthy and charming, adaptable to all situations.

The Element associated with Sagittarius is Fire. The Element associated with Capricorn is Earth. Fire/Earth Signs are both physical and practical. While they are about action and leadership, they are not in a hurry. Their innate optimism and belief in straightforward dealings with others can sometimes make them careless or impulsive, but underneath they are economical, shrewd and rather conservative. Sagittarius/Capricorns love to have a good time; they are outgoing and friendly. They are, however, also among the most responsible and traditional Signs of the Zodiac. They are generally polite and warm, because they understand that making enemies will not help them achieve anything good in life.

Many Sagittarius/Capricorns are natural comedians, sometimes exaggerating their adventures to entertain others. Their innate self-confidence may make them argumentative or blunt, but their intention is to learn, not to offend. They are high-spirited and enthusiastic, often flirtatious, and they tend to enjoy social life immensely. In their leisure time, Sagittarius/Capricorns athleticism comes to the forefront. Personal challenge is always appreciated and they tend to prefer competition with others. One-on-one competition also appeals to them; they especially enjoy golf and martial arts. They tend to be lucky and may enjoy gambling. Thanks to their philosophical side, they also enjoy drama, debate and most other mentally challenging pursuits.
In love relationships Sagittarius/Capricorns are flirtatious, devoted and playful. The great strength of the Sagittarius/Capricorn-born is in their philosophical and exploratory nature. It is important to them that they live life to the fullest, experiencing everything they can. Their ambition is inexhaustible and they are not easily deterred when their goals are in sight. Their hard work makes them one of the most successful characters of the Zodiac.

AND, AS A CLOSER…….

from zodiacsign.mrgoodman (dot com)

November 24, 2017: I was serious about that part I said in red up top. Anyway….

This sign governs the knees and the hams of the Grand Man, or Microcosm, and is a dry, earthy, feminine, nocturnal, southern, changeable, domestic sign of the Zodiac, the negative pole of the Earth Triplicity. The higher attributes are absorption and inspiration. The Sun enters the sign Capricorn on or about the 21st of December of each year, and departs from the sign on or about the 20th of January. The Sun on entering the sign should be given six days before coming into full touch and action with the influence of the sign.

A person born between the dates of the 21st and 27th of December would not receive the full central results of the sign’s individuality, as he would be born when the Sun was on the edge of the sign. This is known as the Cusp, and its, nature and impulses partake of the sign the Sun has just passed through and out from, and the native will also partake of the attributes of the sign of the Zodiac in which the Moon is located at the time of birth.

This sign represents the dark side of the earth, the occult side of history, solitude, and meditation. People born under it are deep thinkers, natural orators, and teachers. They are worshippers of intellect, and devotees to book knowledge. They are insatiable in their desire for intellectual growth.

They are indefatigable workers, and apt to tire quickly because they usually do several things at a time. Like the goat, they will work for themselves without stop or stint, but are very restless when harnessed to work for others. They are not overstocked with self-esteem, and are apt to be self-conscious.

Capricorn people resent all interference, and never meddle with the affairs of others. They are fine entertainers, have excellent memories, and excel in story telling. This is the most brilliant and the most depressed sign in the Zodiac. When jolly, these Capricorners are very jolly; when miserable, they are more miserable than all the others put together, and can usually give no adequate reason for their wretchedness. They are kind-hearted, loyal, and secretive. A friend once is a friend always. They are usually careful in all money and business affairs, and a promise is sacredly regarded. They are natural planners, and know how to make both ends meet.

The majority of the people born under this sign are natural absorbents of natural laws, and are efficient servers to the vast body of humanity in a material way. They are adapted to the carrying out of large projects, and have wonderful continuity in attending to any enterprise which promises handsome material benefits; but they are apt to lose heart when the outlook seems small.
Every Capricorn person should have a good business education and a practical experience in self-maintenance, even if they are prospective heirs or heiresses. These people are very particular about appearances, and set a great value upon the opinion of the world. The desire to keep pace with the aristocracy has ruined many a Capricorn individual.

The women are usually far more discreet financial managers than the men, and are very careful housekeepers, possessing much taste in the arrangement as well as the management of the home. They are often able to take charge of hotels and institutions where many servants are employed. Some excellent musicians come from this sign. When the individual is born so as to be marked by the sign before Capricorn (Sagittarius), on the Cusp, as it is called, the gift of prophecy is likely to be most marked.
Some of the most successful actors and actresses are the result of this combination of signs. Capricorn people are proud, high-minded, determined, independent, lovers of harmony and beauty, but apt to live too much in externals. They are the people of great material aspirations.

Capricorn people are sometimes very indiscreet and very eccentric in their charities and investments. They are apt to be prodigal in giving and buying, and they are also very close in these matters. This seems to depend upon the mood. When the spirits are high and the world looks green, there seems no end to material resources; but when the darkness descends, and this is likely to be a frequent occurrence, “the rainy day” turns up and there is no pleasure in purchasing or giving. Occasionally a Capricorn individual will be found who is not subject to fits of depression. When this is the case, the sanguine temperament predominates so thoroughly that the “rainy day” is seldom anticipated. Indeed these exceptions are generally reckless in money matters.

These people are the most natural teachers to be found in any sign, and this is because they are patient with details. They do not expect the child of seven to know as much as the child of double that age. Then they are very practical in this work, and generally very kind. The pupils of these Capricorn individuals are always devoted to them, and have a great desire to progress, if for no other reason than to please the instructor.

These people abhor flattery, but are exceedingly appreciative of the commendation, which they feel they have righteously earned. They are magnetic, and draw people to them by the working of a natural law, but they dislike any especial demonstration of affection. They know when they are really liked, and this knowledge is quite sufficient. Indeed, there is no worse torture for these persons than to be compelled by courtesy to submit to kisses and caresses. Only to those they really love are they in the least demonstrative.

When awakened and developed, they become the most zealous and unwearied workers in spiritual things. To raise them from the apathy which a long experience in external life has fostered is a difficult matter, but when roused they seem to be wider awake than the people of almost any other domain.

PERSONAL APPEARANCE
They are generally short of stature, and sometimes have very dark complexions and dark hair, with exceedingly expressive eyes.

COMPANIONS
The most congenial friends and companions will be found with those born in Taurus, Virgo, and Libra, or those born about the same time of year as themselves.

FAULTS
The faults of these people are selfishness and self-distrust. They talk too much, and magnify their troubles and perplexities. The spiritual nature is hard to reach, but once aroused is capable of the highest development. They are not quick to anger, but when their rights are meddled with they can be passionate and cruel in their denunciations.

DISEASES
The diseases most likely to attack those born under this sign are indigestion and melancholia. They are often the victims of overwork because of their determination to achieve brilliantly whatever they undertake, and because of their lack of judgment in reference to their powers of endurance.

These ailments and all others known to man can be entirely dominated, forever cast out, by those who realize that mind is the master and the body the servant of the mind.

MODE OF GROWTH
As these people talk too much, they should first learn silence and deep meditation, and search for the best methods of overcoming the habit of unkind judgment. They should learn discrimination about methods of work, and not ruin their fine powers by a too strict adherence to precedent and public opinion.

They should make a careful study of themselves, find their weakest points, and then set diligently to work to strengthen them. The chief lesson for an intelligent Capricorn person to learn is that there is something higher than the intellect, and that there are things, which cannot be proved by mathematics or worked out by a syllogism. When the teachers in this sign are illuminated by spiritual light their power for good is unlimited, and they seem to possess every gift worth having.

This light can be obtained only by looking up and away from self. The tendency to morbid introspection and the habit of dwelling upon the ills of life make this a difficult matter. The earth’s attraction for these people is very strong, but it is often beautifully overcome. There is great credit in such conquest, for this sign represents the dark side of the earth, called by some Hades.

GOVERNMENT OF CHILDREN
Children born under this sign should not be associated with cross or coarse people, as they readily take on the conditions of those about them. Great care should be taken to instruct them in a plain matter-of-fact understanding of the uses and the abuses of the sex nature. It is not impossible to be too earnest in this education, nor can they be too early impressed with the realities of human life, and the necessity of self-government, especially in the matter of pride.

These Capricorn children are inclined to be haughty and arrogant if not controlled. Like their elders who have not been brought into harmony with spiritual truth, they reason from external, material standpoints, and are apt to feel that they know it all. To make these children willing servers, unwearied pains should be taken to cultivate in them a desire to serve others rather than themselves. It is also vitally necessary that they be taught discretion in eating.

Unwearied pains should be taken to keep these children simple in their desires and natural in behavior, as the tendency of this sign is toward outward display, which very soon degenerates into vulgar and shoddy tastes. This sign is governed by Saturn, and the gems are white onyx and moonstone. The astral colors are garnet, brown, silver-gray, and black.

  1. I really appreciated the fact that you drew from so many great sources. This is like a one stop shop. I am extremely pleased.

  2. Hi, I’ve been researching lately to learn why I am the way I am, and coming across descriptions of those born on the cusp of Sag and Cap has been really helpful and rewarding. December 22nd is my birthday. I notice that I really identify with Sagittarius in many ways, but definitely have mild Capricorn traits ( maybe a little more than mild at times). But I notice as I read on in mrgoodman’s article, he began to focus more on Capricorn people, and I felt that I don’t relate as much, or maybe I just don’t like what I’m reading!! Even if it rings true about me. But I’ve always struggled when reading Cap descriptions because I’m “supposed to be” business minded, and so successful, and oh so organized, and determined, and I’m just not feeling it to quite that extent, never have! So that’s why it’s been a relief to read about “Sagicorns”. And, I was reading about Celtic astrology and according to their charts, I’m a Sagittarius….interesting insights into our being through astrology. And it’s helpful to read about my family members signs, helps me to see that I need to be more understanding and forgiving. As for relationships phew, they’ve been a mess; beginning and ending prematurely, too long and abusive, or just dropped entirely , a real mess. And a lot of it is me being too intense, not intense enough, independent, paying too much attention or not enough. Thanks for reading this long response.

    1. Hi I’m a Sagicorn too and I’m currently going through the same thing. I was born dec 21st but I feel nothing like a Sagittarius some days. Mostly like a Capricorn. I’m super sensitive and sometimes bossy but also hard on myself when I should just relax more. Ive been depressed and pushing everyone away just to work on myself. I keep blaming them but the more I read about myself I’m starting to realize we all have issues but we have to work on them individually

  3. I’m not sure if anyone has read this recently, but this was 100% spot on for me! I am December 21. I grew up taking a lot of the Sagittarius traits, but the older I get the more I see my Capricorn taking control. The only complaint of my personality I have, is in love. I find it immensely hard committing to anyone for the long term. I date people with intentions for the long term and then often feel they all tie me down more than anything. We are such free individuals. I hope I can find someone as free, or someone who can balance this in me without making me feel like I’m in some sort of bird cage. If any of you Sagicorns are married or dating someone happily, I’d love to hear their sign and how you work together!! If anyone reads this anytime soon, my email is daisy7746@gmail.com 🙂 thank you for sharing all of this!! ❤️

    1. Payton – thanks so much for your comment. SO interesting – there’s an earlier comment, coincidentally, that echoes just what you said: earlier Sag traits but for Capricorn as you get older. I, too, have had my challenges with long-term commitment – and I could call on my many exes to confirm that. To answer your last question, I’ve discovered that with no overt action on my part, Taurus and Aries seem to gravitate towards me – I’ve had more people in my life in those signs than any other…thanks again!

      1. Thank you very much for responding!! I would love to talk with you more about this if you’d ever like to! I’m extremely interested in our cusp and figuring out ways were all similar and ways to cope with the downfalls we may share! Or how the things in your life have been handled due to the way you see things! If you’d like to talk more about it I linked my email!! Thank you again so much for replying to my comment c:

    2. Payton Lee..I am sailing on the same boat as you. Fed up of short relations which were not intentional.Waiting for a long relationship and more about our cusp. Best Wishes!

    3. I too am 21st December and feel a lot of Capricorn is in me although I do have a little Sagittarius I’ve been with my husband 27 years x

    4. 12/22 dating another cusp gemini-cancer. seven years now, have broken up 3-4 times because of my hard committing and feeling of being tied down/wanting to be free. it’s something i fear will never change. still together and we work for the most part – but being stubborn is something i still struggle with + hide it and try to keep my mind with the realistic point of view and not the dreamer side of me.

    5. oh wow. i was your boyfriend during this comment. odd thing to come across lol.

you ended up ghosting me… as im still new to the signs (she was teaching me about them)
is this common for this sign to just run away and make up excuses?

i dont know… its playing with my head a Capricorn/Aquarius

      Thank you

      1. im interested to find out more. shes a great woman, but i assume her sign played a big part in why she ditched me?

i miss her so much. id like to learn anything about this sign that i can use to try win her back or atleast be friends with her

        Thank you

  4. I can relate to much of what is in the article. I have often been scared of reaching my full potential because I feel it is unlimited. That’s heavy and could require a lot of responsibility. I am a gifted individual, have several interests and I’m a PK (preacher’s kid). This part really struck a cord with me:

When the teachers in this sign are illuminated by spiritual light their power for good is unlimited, and they seem to possess every gift worth having.

I think I am only scratching the surface with my gifts. I must live in my purpose though.

  5. My birthday is 12/22. I have always felt I am 100% Capricorn, with little or no Sagittarius traits. However, lately I’m rethinking this. I do know I find it very hard to read about Capricorns, and especially Sagittarius/Capricorn cusp info. I always feel amazed I can even exist in this world! The most interesting idea in these articles was the idea that children of this sign combo should not be around cross or coarse people. This may explain much about why I’m so sensitive and just yearn for kind and gentle folks. Very gruff relatives in my early years. Thank you for this compilation. Most intriguing.
I also found your notes very interesting that this page was the most visited. Understandable, given the truly confusing nature of this cusp combo.

    1. My birthday is 12/22 also! My ascendant is Sagittarius. However I’ve noticed that as I get older my Capricorn side has very much taken a back-seat to my Sagittarius side, increasingly so each year. I find it interesting that you feel the pull of taking on emotions of those around you as I definitely do too… in fact, a good friend who is very in touch with her spiritual gifts told me last year that she felt I was an “empath,” and this observation led me to some really enlightening articles after doing a little research. To be honest, it really has helped me begin to understand myself a lot better, and has also been key in giving myself a break, so to speak, for being so “sensitive” (as that is a trait I’ve always admonished myself for and even tried to suppress). I suggest giving it a Google, what you find might surprise you! By the way, happy belated birthday to a fellow 12/22 baby 🙂

      1. Interesting that not only are these pages resonating with some people, but their reactions & comments seem to have similarity as well! Consider that comment I just received a few days ago. It feels to ME like YOU could have written the Payton comment just as easily!

  6. born dec 21,right on the cusp.of course leap year would change this a bit..very enlightning article, thanks!

    1. I’m born 26/12

My mum & brother are saggitarius
      My dad is Virgo

Growing up I always felt to myself I had some sort of split personality one minute I would feel very loved by my family & friends then the next I would feel like a ghost & finding out eventually about the cusp I was very relieved!! It makes sense why sometimes my family & friends don’t feel so close to me because of the cycle & another thing I have to add are we are known as starseeds because of our time of birth and this is a whole different level! It took me years to understand astrology & numerology but truly A rewarding gift🌠

      Life is magical ❤️💫🌟
